John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado who specialized in folk-pop music has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a New Mexican born artist and songwriter who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's national anthems to his adopted state has drawn a lot of people to Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame states it is true that John Denver is unlike any other musician who represents Colorado. Denver was a member of the Hall of Fame as its first member in 2011. Today he personifies the state for all people. Through my travels I've had the pleasure of meeting individuals from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell people you're from Colorado, the first words they say are"Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 hits after he performed with smaller folk groups. It was co-written by and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff had originally written the tune using Johnny Cash's songs with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver knew from the first time he heard first versions of the song that it could be a huge success. The song was performed on stage in Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver made a recording a few days later.
